Essential Supplies for Journalism

Journalism like any other major has it's essentials supplies that any reporter will need to succeed. Here's 5 that are must have.

1. Notebook- Whether it's taking notes from a source or just writing general information, a notebook is a great get to write things down. In the event your camera or voice recorder fails you need a third option to joint down what someone is saying to go back on.

2. Laptop- A good display, and a keyboard to that can keep up with the fast hands moving required to write stories.  Most laptops come at a affordable price and are easy to use. Whether it's fact checking, writing stories, or researching ideas to pitch in a story meeting. It's always use to have especially in this day and age.
3. Grammarly/AP Style book- When the first draft of the story is finished. You'll  have to go through every story and edit it. These two are a great way to check spelling, AP style, and structure errors. As long as it's used for correction and not writing entirely.

4. Smartphone- Doesn't matter if it's a iPhone, Samsung. A phone that can take pictures or report on live events on the fly as it's happening is something every reporter will have to go through. A phone may already come pre loaded with the other important apps needed.

5. Voice Recorder- Make sure to ask a source permission but it's a great backup in case your microphone fails to record what the person is saying. It can improve audio more than a normal smartphone.
